The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show is shaping up to be a great event. One of the themes inside the Royal Exhibition Buildings is “Hot House: Danger. Desire. Delight” where floral designers are looking at both nature and fashion for inspiration and is sure to draw a crowd. There are some highly respected landscape designers involved with the show gardens including Ian Barker, Paul Hervey-Brookes from the UK, Peta Donaldson and Brent Reid. We are fortunate to have a couple of our designs in the Tourism NT Garden designed by Brent Reid of Candeo Design. They include a pair of Dancing Brolgas and we will be launching one of our new designs – a Giant Blue Tongue Lizard which is three metres long. I have a soft spot for Blue Tongues as long as they stay out of our strawberry patch. This one is the perfect shape for kids to climb all over.
The Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show is offering a new experience for visitors this year – “Gardens by Twilight” on Friday the 18th of March. The gates will be open from 6-9.30pm. Not only do you get to see the show gardens and floral designs but there will also be food, drink and entertainment. Tickets can be pre-purchased through RACV online or over the phone on 13 13 29.
